Obituary

John Paul Pratl, age 69 of Portage, IN, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, IN. He was born May 21, 1940 in Chicago, IL to John C. and Marie (Kienle) Pratl, who preceded him in death. John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jacqueline (Mraz) Pratl of Portage, IN; children, Diana (Craig) Van Schouwen of Valparaiso, IN, John E. (Evette) Pratl of Portage, IN, and Dawn (James) Morris of Portage, IN; grandchildren, Alexandra Pratl, Jacob and Bennett Van Schouwen, and Mallory and James Morris; brother, Robert (Kathy) Pratl of Glouchester, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Ann Pratl. John was an area resident since 1967, coming from Chicago. He worked as a Lithographer for the US Can Company and was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church. He was a member of NRA and loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed woodworking. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 10:00 am at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, IN with Father Andrew Corona officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN. www.EE-FH.com
