Obituary

Martha Baldwin, age 97, of Portage, IN, passed away at home on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Martha is survived by her children: Gene (Toni) Baldwin and Jerry (Cathleen) Baldwin; 6 grandchildren: Donna (Chris) Mickey, Scott (Sandy) Baldwin, Terry (Trish) Baldwin, Tammy (Shon) Ahrendt, Penny (Rob) Torgesen and Alicia (Curt Charlson) Tucker; 1 step-grandchild, Deena (Jim) Hanley; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters: Virgie (Bill) Yontz and Victoria Carpenter.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Tivis Baldwin; parents, Oscar and Dora Bentley; son, Horace Baldwin; daughter, Linda Baldwin; 1 grandchild, J.C. Baldwin II; 1 step-granchild, Shelly Pajor; and several brothers and sisters.

Martha dedicated her whole life to God and her church. She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, coloring, gardening and sitting on her porch swing.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral & Cremation Services, 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN 46360 from 11:00 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Missy Buche officiating.

Interment to follow at McCool Cemetery in Portage, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Martha’s name to the church of the donor’s choice.
