Obituary

John Charles Lorenz, age 55, of Portage, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born on August 19, 1960 in Valparaiso, IN, to Charles and Madelyn (Samuelson) Lorenz.

John is survived by his parents; daughters, Amanda and Hannah Lorenz; siblings, Ken (Sara) Lorenz, Julie (John) Risley, Jen (Pat) Costello, Karen (Tod) Blakely, Beth (Jeff) Wrigley, Chris (Bob) Stone, Tim Begley; dog, Carly and numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends.

John was a farrier by trade and had previously worked for the Portage Park Dept. He enjoyed Chicago Bulls Basketball and tending his parent’s flower gardens.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Portage, 2637 McCool Road, Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Mark Dickens and Pastor Deb Rouselle officiating. Arrangements were handled by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage, IN.
