Jaclyn J. Macedo Portage Jaclyn J. Macedo, 65, of Portage passed away Sunday, April 14, 1996. She was born February 10, 1931 in Gary, the daughter of Bartley J. and Pearle M. (Samuelson) Farry. A Portage resident for 65 years she was a 1949 graduate of Portage High School. She received her Bachelors Degree from Ball State and her Masters Degree from Valparaiso University. Employed by the Portage Township Schools for 37 years. She worked for 26 of those years at Jones Elementary School as a 3rd grade teacher. A longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church. She served as the first President of the Portage Community Historical Society. She was a member of I.S.T.A. and N.E.A. and was involved with the Porter County Tourism Board. Devoted mother of one son, Gregory Wilson of Kouts; two daughters, Holly (George) Papachronis and Penny (Jim) O'Neil, both of Portage; loving grandmother of six grandchildren: Angelo, Chris and Tasha Papachronis, Rachel Wilson and Natalie and Sammy Hardison, all of Portage; one sister, Joyce (Bill) Gloyeske of Crawfordsville; 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and one brother Ned O. Farry. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 1996 at 1 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. 6322 Portage Ave., Portage. Interment in McCool Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Engel Funeral Home, 2700 Willowcreek Road, Portage, IN.
