Obituary

Peggy Sue Burton-Potrebic, age 57, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1966, in Gary, Indiana, to Robert and Sue (Aitken) Burton.

Peggy is survived by her three daughters, Christie Burton, Brittany Flores, Breanna Flores; son, Brad Burton; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Katie) Burton Jr., William (Nancy) Burton, Vincent (Missy) Burton; sister, Katherine (Marty) Allbritton; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by father, Robert H. Burton, Sr.; two sisters, Leoda Ann Burton, Lori Braselton; and daughter, Bianca Flores.

Peggy was a very strong willed and independent woman. She loved interacting with her regular customers at her many positions in the food service and bar industry over the years. She loved her family and her dog Franky and enjoyed crafts including wood burning. Peggy enjoyed a good life and lived to the fullest.

Funeral Ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 10:00 am at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage, IN.
