Obituary

Jeff "Country Boy" Dame, age 55, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born on December 27, 1969, in Gary, Indiana, to Marvin and Helen (Arnold) Dame.

Jeff is survived by his brother, Edward Dame of Valparaiso; nieces and nephews, Jason Simpson, Jessica (Gregory) Cox, Logan Cox, Abygail Pearl, Ryan (Ashlee) Dame, Kieran Dame, Lily Dame; and numerous extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Nila Dame, Marvena Dame, and Terrie Jaquet.

Jeff was most proud of being an honorary member of the South Haven Fire Department. He was also an active member of South Haven Civil Defense. Jeff worked as a dealer for Majestic Star Casino for many years. He had a love for music, especially country music, working with the music men, and ghost hunting. He was also a large Disney enthusiast and enjoyed his trips to Disney. Jeff was very passionate about playing poker with his family and friends. His favorite saying was, "Have I told you how much I love you today?"

A memorial visitation for Jeff will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage. A memorial service will be immediately follow the visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Inurnment of Jeff's cremated remains will be held at 11:00 a.m. the following Saturday, April 5, 2025, in McCool Cemetery, Portage. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.ee-fh.com.
